Late Night Musings.

“God prunes us when He is about to take us into a new season of growth and expansion.” Christine Caine

Tonight, I am meditating on this truth. Though at times, our burdens may seem too much to bear, and our mundane human existence can seem exhausting; Jesus is faithful. Though the daily battle to surrender sometimes feels like walking on a tight rope, may I always remember that He is there with a safety net. I do not know where this chapter in my life may lead, or when the trials will be over, but at least I can rest in His truths, and in His all consuming love.

There are so many cliche metaphors used to describe life. This little snippet of time is compared to a “highway,” a “roller coaster” a “journey.” But what if we consider, for one second, that our life wasn’t meant to be so unstable? I’ll admit, I often struggle with getting consumed with the nitty-gritty details of my life picture. If only our finite, incompetent human brains could comprehend the glory of God’s plan. Oh, I wish that we had the ability to see things from His eyes. Where we see a road block, He sees a speed bump. Where we see a mountain, He sees a sand dune.

Instead of being so consumed in the details, let us rest in divine peace, knowing that He really does have the ultimate control. (Even if we hesitate to surrender, He still has the final say.)

Mulling over this quote from Christine Cain, I’m going to choose to look at obstacles from a different perspective. I doubts and fears, but He hears my heart song, and has already directed my steps. The path Jesus paved is rocky, lonely, and sometimes we can’t find the way to the light. But oh how wonderful it is to know that He will never leave us astray.
