The Journey Begins

Tomorrow morning (at the crack of dawn) my team sets out for Kenya! I could not be more excited to see what God has in store for our team as we embark on this adventure. We will be working with many ministries located in the area, as well as going on a safari to get a glimpse of God’s incredible creation. We will be working in the Cure and Kijabe hospitals, giving aid to people in an IDP (internationally displaced persons) camp, working with Little Lambs ministry, and Flow of Hope ministry. If you are curious, want to donate to these organizations, or want to know direction in how to pray, all of these ministries have websites!

(Side Note: While I am there, I will be reading through The Pursuit of God by A.W. Tozer and Crazy Love by Francis Chan. If you have never read these iconic novels, I highly recommend both of them! They are challenging, and truth-giving. Both of these authors are well respected Christian leaders, and write with a tender balance of authority and humility.)

Thank you so much for the continuous support and faithful prayers throughout this journey. I firmly believe that God has a remarkable plan in store for our team as we strive to bring His love to the people in Kenya. I will be updating my blog as frequently as possible, so that family and friends can receive updates and know how to pray.

“Declare His glory among the nations, His marvelous works among all the peoples!” Psalm 96:3

“Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace will not be removed,” says the Lord who has compassion on you. Isaiah 54:10

Prayer Requests:

  • Safety and good health for the members of the team
  • Easy entry into Kenya and smooth flights
  • That the people of Kenya’s hearts would be softened and open to experiencing Jesus’ love
  • Calm and peace for the team as we travel for a few days

Excited and nervous as your journey begins, go with God speed. Looking forward to hearing about all the happenings and will add ” a safe return home ” to that prayer list.
