Be Still.

Stillness has always frightened me,

Because my thoughts are as loud as ocean waves.

Constantly crashing,

Conning me out of taking risks.

Stillness seems scary,

Because my inner voice sounds foreign.

She dreams wildly, pushing forward with reckless abandon.

Stillness has always beckoned me,

Because in the quiet I can hear Him whisper.

In the pause I am captivated by His nearness,

And it is therefore impossible to hide behind chaos.

Quiet is His platform for calling,

It is where He will make us whole.

Stillness has always frightened me,

But it is stillness that I seek.
