Comparison Culture

This world is so consumed by status and popularity. Sometimes I drown in shallow waters and get stuck in a place of comparison too. Sometimes the selfish nature of our humanity makes my heart sick.

I don’t know why it’s so easy for us to become consumed by a social media pseudo reality. Our tendency to miss out on real world living by creating a social media driven life is so tragic.

Thankfully, Jesus says we were not made for this world alone. We were made to be loved by an incredible Creator, bathed in grace, and operate with Kingdom driven eyes. I felt really convicted about the state of my own heart as I read the following “Don’t you realize that a friendship with the world makes you an enemy of God? I say it again, if you want to be a friend of the world you make yourself an enemy of God.” James 4:4 (NLT)

I’m going to leave that for you to ponder today. This fame obsessed culture is overwhelming, but we were not created for this world alone.
